Lifelong Quest

I like adventure and journeys. It’s something that I’ve only realized over the past few years. I love my life out on the roads of the USA with my husband. We are constantly traveling in our big rig, and getting paid to do so. I love waking up in a different place, and when we are not under a load, exploring the areas that we get the privilege to view. We are deeply aware that God has blessed us and enabled us to live this life.
And when I think back over my life, I see that God has planned an exquisite adventure for me in my life. And just like a good movie, there are joyous moments, intense moments of pain, betrayals, acceptance, new life, deaths, good, evil, and many plot twists that I never foresaw. But through each and every one of those instances God was there, right beside me (Jehovah-Shammah – “The Lord is There”) – even before I knew Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior.
I’ve always known that God had designs on my life, even as a child I felt that God was calling me to Himself. There was always a tug on my heart for the things of God. As a child, we seldom went to church, my parents were on again and off again church attenders, mostly off again. When I did attend Sunday School, I felt like I had been really missing out, and I was envious about what the other children knew about the Bible stories and Jesus. I may not have understood all that was said in those services but it felt good to me to be in church. God was never really spoken about in our home, and the Bible was just a book on the shelf that gathered dust. Over the years the ways of the world would wrench my focus from God, but he was always there, calling me. Thankfully, God’s voice won out. I didn’t have any great conversion experience, nothing miraculous, or earth shattering. My life with God has been a steady progression, sometimes two steps forward and one step backwards. But it has always been a lifelong quest, something that appeals to my sense of adventure.
God calls each of us to a different path, but God calls all of us to Himself. God is everything, everywhere, and He can and longs to be everything that you’ll ever need. God provides (Jehovah-Jireh). God sees (El-Roi). God is peace (Jehovah-Shalom). God is most high (El-Elyon). God is everlasting (El-Olam). God is almighty (El-Shaddai). God is master (Adonai). God is our banner (Jehovah-Nissi). God is our healer (Jehovah-Rapha). God is our shepherd (Jehovah-Rohi). God is the Lord of hosts (Jehovah-Sabbaoth). God is our righteousness (Jehovah-Tsidkenu). God will sanctify you (Jehovah-Maccaddeshem).
God is Lord (Jehovah or Yahweh, His eternal nature).

God is God (Elohim).

He’s truly all we need. And He sent us our savior Jesus so that we will enjoy eternal life with Him, in His presence.

I love the adventure that God’s given to me to live out my life in His grace and mercy.
